Funny thing is - everything I've said I've backed up with valid points. You can't back up your statement of 'decent squad' - because it's not a decent squad. I'm up for debate ?

The board have not backed Bilic or Moyes when its blatantly obvious we are in risk of going down.

Patrice Evra
Joao Mario
Jordan Hugill

- When coupled with the sale of Diafra Sakho and Andre Ayew - this window was absolutely diabolical. Not Moyes fault. Don't care what you say about that.

The players have not stepped up - At Swansea they have worked together with the manager - they've bought into his philosophy. Could you have imagined if we'd hired Sheffield Wednesday's Manager who were incidentally below mid table when he left - on here? Fucking bedlam.

The players are as much responsible as the manager, but the buck stops with he board

He's been playing centre-back for the last four months! Do try to keep up.

Judging by your defence of the relegation king, I'd say we are beyond that?

True enough Brick-Lane. Currently there are few leaders except Zab, and I think his ability is down to playing for the managers he has played for, winners and leaders who can motivate. The current lot, doesnt have anything for WHU, they are set for life with the paychecks they cash is and if they go down, they are sure to find another place to play football. This is why I say we cant rely on the player to be motivated and that it is down to the manager and the whole club setup. Comparing Moyes ot Ferguson serves as a good example since we can see the short comings of one compared to the other. We are in very deep shit and leaders on the pitch can only go that far when all around you is in shambles.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Burnley - Official Match Thread
Macca and Sold0, sons.

I think we all need to move on from the Bilic vs Moyes discussion now. The majority of us did not want Moyes, it's as simple as that, but I don't see the point in me posting "I told you so" on WHO. Firstly because, strangely enough, I didn't write down the names of those posters who were pro-Moyes so I'd probably posting aimlessly at individuals who agreed with me anyway. Secondly because, what does it achieve?

FWIW, I thought Bilic was poor and I think Moyes is even shitter. However, there was simply no point in moving on a hapless manager if you can't line up a quality replacement who is no improvement on the person you're sacking. I recall that's what the overriding reaction was to his appointment and surprise surprise look at us now.

Bilic might as well still be here. It doesn't matter at the end of the day, as whoever was our manager would have been badly let down in the January transfer window and would still be playing in the shittest football ground in the league.

You know what though, I'm not going to blame any of those people who tried desperately to hang onto any potential positive from the Moyes appointment, because, as misled as they were, they were only trying desperately to find a silver lining.

Bottom line is, we all know too well what the real problems are. Our ground and our board. Brenty might as well be our manager, it just doesn't matter any more.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Burnley - Official Match Thread
The point is Mourinho could've been in charge and they would still be n the same the predicament. The problem is bigger than who picks the team.

Talk to me about our squad. Do you disagree with my points about specific positions and players?

He and the fans have been let down badly "

Hahaha. He was given a job when no one else would touch him. He hasn't been let down. He's been given a lifeline.

He's failing again.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Burnley - Official Match Thread
Please don't get me wrong - I was staunchly against us hiring Moyes - but once the hire was made, as always I will back the manager.

As with Sunderland - above the management and playing staff - the club is fucked.

I can see that West Hams current shortcomings are not because of Moyes - He is working with what he has been given - Patrice Evra, Jordan Hugill and Joao Mario in a window when we needed proper re-inforcements.

He and the fans have been let down badly

Why are you worried about Sunderland going down this season, when the manager who took them down last season is taking your club down?

You carry on making excuses for him. You'll wake up at some stage.

So why are they still in dire straits?

Is it Moyes fault they're going to get relegated this year after two more managerial changes?

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Burnley - Official Match Thread
Libertine - there are no leaders on the PITCH - apart from maybe Zabaleta you could argue - When I say leaders - I mean players who stand up and are counted - players that still have a decent game even when the rest of the team are playing terribly - ala Scott Parker

How many times have Sunderland changed their manager since Moyes left? They're FUCKED as a club - he made the wrong choice going there.

They're so fucked they're going down again.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Burnley - Official Match Thread
Squad is indeed fine, it could be argued we have great players. What we dont have is motivation and that comes down to the manager and the whole set up. It is also the reason we actually do put up a fight against bigger teams, yet fail to turn up against poorer opposition at the must win games. Basic leadership skills are missing from the management. Alex Ferguson had it, but it is a rare trade to have the management skills and the leadership guile. Moyes dont have it, Bilic didnt either. Its unlikely we will have a manager who is a leader with the current board.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Burnley - Official Match Thread
While i've got 5 mins;

Cresswell is fucking shocking too - so for me, we have no left sided player capable of doing a defensive job whilst offering a threat going forward. Masuaka is good going one way, useless going the other.

Cresswell has done exactly the same as Kouyate - he now no longer over laps, can't deliver quality into the box - and defensively is a shambles.

So what do we do ? We get in a 37 year old instagram sensation who's legs are shot to bits. Give him a chance? No i fucking won't - he's on a free and out of work for a reason.

We've got two keepers - neither of which you would realistically hang your hat on to do you a job.

The club/team is absolutely fucked and I really don't blame Moyes for this.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Burnley - Official Match Thread
You're talking about a Manager who every other club shunned. No one apart from a few on here and the owners care that he done well at Everton 15 years ago.

Everton had the chance to get him back. They along with every other club looking for a Manager didn't give him a second thought.

He was absolutely woeful at Manchester United. Ask any of their fans. He took over a squad that no other team had got more points than the previous 2 seasons.

He then failed in Spain. Was laughed out the country.

He then went to Sunderland and finished rock bottom of the league when messrs Di Canio, Advacaart, SBRAGIA and Poyet had kept them up.

For me - that says enough.

brick_lane_batty_boy 12:08 Mon Mar 12
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Burnley - Official Match Thread
You are talking about a guy that successfully managed an Everton side to 4th and consistent top 7 finishes over the course of 11 years - on a budget.

A man who was seen good enough for Manchester United and didn't really get a chance.

He is a good manager. He obviously knows what he is doing. He doesn't think Hernandez is effective enough to the lead the line against Burnley at home. Thats Burnley. Not Man City

For me - that says enough.

Who would you suggest is the man that sits in front of the back 4 and protects them ?

One McAvennieeeeee 12:02 Mon Mar 12
Re: ⚽ West Ham v Burnley - Official Match Thread
The players play there because the Manager chooses them to play there.

He doesn't have to play players out of position. There are alternatives.
